The Luther Experience is committed to:
  • Developing deep personal relationships.
  • Broadening our understanding of church history and our times.
  • Growing in our love of the Holy Scriptures and Jesus.
  • Understanding the power of a life fully yielded to God.
  • Living the bold life by crashing through barriers of that hold us back.
  • Saying “yes” to God in every area of our lives.
  • Asking God to speak to us through His Holy Scriptures and Spirit.

The Luther Experience is a ten-day trip to all of the great places in the life of Martin Luther. We stay at the Kempinski Gravenbruch, Frankfurt and the historic Hotel Elephant, Weimar. The Experience takes us to Stotternheim, where a lightning bolt knocked Luther to the ground, Erfurt and the Black Cloister, Wittenberg, where Luther lived, taught, was married, had his Tower Experience, and posted the 95 theses, and the Wartburg Castle where he translated the New Testament into German. We spend a day at Buchenwald Concentration Camp understanding what happened and why. We also visit with a local Lutheran German State church.

Stu has been an Area Director in Young Life, a graduate of Gordon-Conwell Theological Seminary where he was awarded a Byington Fellowship in Systematic Theology, the Executive Director of Ligonier Ministries under Dr. RC Sproul, the founding pastor of Orchard Hill Church, Pittsburgh, and Rector of The Abbey, Pawleys Island, SC. The Luther Experience Prayer: “Dear Lord Jesus, from this moment on, I yield my life to you. I give you my fears, worries, and anxieties. What is it you want to say to me? What is it you want me, to leave behind? What is it you want me, to move toward? Speak to me, through the miraculous activity of your Holy Spirit. I yield my mind and heart, and the people with me, to you. Amen.”

Live as if Christ died yesterday, rose this morning, and is coming back tomorrow. Martin Luther
